I checked into this hotel on Tuesday 5/5/20. Last night at about 1:00am I woke up to use the restroom. I sleep with it dark (won’t do that ever in a hotel though), so I turned the lamp on to see where I was going in the room I was not used to. I immediately saw the very large adult bed bug on top of the comforter, and after my initial horror I took a picture of it because I had never actually seen a live adult bed bug (lucky me? 🤢). I think tried to squish it within a tissue after picking it up, and it did not seem to want to die. Also very very creepy. I left it inside the tissue, inside a glass with a lid in the room, and immediately called to front desk. The employee’s response was a little odd and I had to explain that it is really gross and I was not going to stay in that room...you would think normally they would offer to immediately move you or refund your money, especially when I was in a hotel with maybe four other guests in the whole place due to COVID-19...but no, I had to specifically ask. I was offered to move to a room on a different floor, but at this point I was wide awake and there was no way I was falling back asleep, so I said I wanted to leave, be refunded that night’s rate, and I said to please have the manager call me to address this in the morning. First she told me to call the manager. Why can’t the manager call me? Anyway, it is now 10:00am, no call, and I’m not happy. That would be the first call I made when I got to work if a first at my upscale hotel found an adult bed bug in their bed.
