I stopped at the Quality Inn in Elyria, Ohio on the evening of Tuesday, January 16, 2018. As soon as I made it to my assigned room (109), I started my usual bed bug inspection. I pulled up each mattress to look for bed bugs on top of the boxspring; I pulled up the fitted sheets to see if there were bugs on the actual mattress sides; I inspected the bed headboards; I inspected the carpeting; and then I pulled the covers down on one bed AND when I pulled the covers down I saw one bed bug - bright as day - crawling around. I killed the bed bug in tissue and brought the bed bug to the front desk. The two women at the front desk said, "We've never dealt with bed bugs." Note: when I walked into the hotel room the air was so hot that I had to open the hotel room window to get some cool air in there - it was hotter than a sauna. Upon finding the bed bug, I believe that the heater in the room may have been turned to the highest heating temperature setting with high fan power to attempt to get rid of the bed bugs (extreme heat or extreme cold can kill bed bugs). I made the bed bug discovery within 30 minutes of arriving at the hotel. I asked to be refunded because I would not stay for the night (this was at 10:30 p.m.). To date, I have not been refunded the $68.64 room and $15.00 pet fees. But also, the two women at the front desk did not offer the manager's email or telephone number, nor did they inquire if there was anything they could do to attempt to rehabilitate the situation in terms of customer care (e.g., complimentary stay in the future, complimentary services, free laundry service or reimbursement for laundry service and/or promise to reimburse for any expenses related to bed bug eradication as a result of Quality Inn infestation). I have booked a stay at a different Quality Inn in California for the month of May 2018, which I will now be canceling due to my experience at the Quality Inn in Elyria, Ohio.

Date 11/2/21 at 4:45 pm. I was sitting in the chair in the room and started getting bit, I removed the cushion and saw bedbugs then I checked the foot of the bed and omg I found excrement. I called the front desk for the manager that never came he sent the girl at the front desk. She apologized repeatedly and took pictures and said the exterminator is coming on Friday. We weren’t charged but we had to leave everything we brought into the room that was 80.00 worth the stuff and we left and unfortunately it got in our house 5000.00 heat treat and pets had to be treated too so a whole lot of money for not even a full day. Never again. We ended up sleeping in our car.

May 12 2022. Upon arriving noticed dirty nasty stinking mattresses and box springs and furnitue in every hall way. This heightened my senses. Open and enter room and did my normal check of room upon pulling back sheets and mattresses sure enough BED BUGS! We informed the staff that this place was infested and we were not staying here. They acted like they had no clue. This has been like this for years and they do know. They now will not respond to requests for refund.
