Sept 15-20, 2024: rental house had infestation of bed bugs (found in multiple rooms, in different stages of life). Red Door Getaways does not answer their phone after hours. Had to wait until next day when they sent out exterminator to inspect. He confirmed bed bugs. Applied rubbing alcohol and some type of powder on the carpet. He did not fumigate and did not do heat treatment of the house. Rental company never offered to move us (they later claimed they had no other houses available). Even their own exterminator was surprised that they didn't offer to move us. I found more bugs the day after the exterminator claimed he "fixed" everything. The exterminator came back and claimed the new bugs were "beetles". Did not sleep well all week. I would not let my children sleep in the bedroom where the most bugs were found. Had to do extensive, time-consuming disinfection of everything upon returning home, and threw many items away that could not be cleaned. Emailed rental company and asked for full refund. Waited a whole week, zero response. Left them a negative review on Google and they responded to that (and falsely accused me of making a threat), but refused the full refund. Bottom line, we would have never booked a stay with them if we had known there was a bed bug infestation.
