On 08/01/2024, shortly before midnight, I woke up to find two bedbugs crawling next to me in room 109. My daughter had a bite on her arm. I caught one of the bugs and brought it to the front desk. They moved us to room 115 that had no air conditioning (the temperature inside the room was 81F on the thermostat.) However, at least one bug had hitchhiked on my suitcase that had been sitting next to the infested bed. The bug fell off when I went to inspect our luggage in the new room. We had inspected both rooms for bugs. Room 109 even had a bedbug mattress protector. They went to room 109 and confirmed several more bugs and offered to launder our clothes in the office sheet/towel laundry machine when I asked if the motel would at least pay for the coin laundry needed to clean all of our fabric items. After I brought my luggage to the lobby to steam clean as much as I could, they offered me oversized garbage bags to put all of our belongings in and moved us to a 3rd room (room 214). It took me 11 hours to go through everything and steam all the unwashable items (luggage, computer bags) with my small, handheld steamer because each 4" area has to be steamed for at least 30 seconds.
