Checked into the Quality Inn & Suites on 4/17/24. Exact room number is unknown. Was traveling with a large group of University students through Des Moines, and University officials booked the Quality Inn and Suites for the group. Initially, the room that I located appeared to be clean, and bed bug free. However, as the other students checked around their rooms, a large brown bug was noted after pulling back the comforter. On the flat sheet, there was a bed bug. Immediately, the students reported this incident to management, who relocated the students to a new room. As the University had booked the room, the students were unable to vacate the property and locate a different accommodation for the evening. Staff handled the incident as they saw fit, relocating students to a new room, however, pictures were taken of the bug on the flat sheet. Upon further comparison to bed bug pictures online, it was confirmed to fit the description of a large adult bed bug. DO NOT STAY HERE Management handled it as they saw fit, but the students should have been able to vacate the property.
