I stayed at the hotel from Nov. 10-13 for a family funeral. I noticed a bug crawling on the wall close to the ceiling the 11th and thought was a beetle so wasn't worried. Later that night I saw what looked like the same type of bug on top of one of the sheets and I took a photo, again I didn't know it was a bed bug because I had never seen one before. I took a photo so I could let someone know once I got home because I was exhausted and didn't think it was a bed bug. On the 13th, I left at 5 a.m. and went on my way back to Oregon. During my flight home I noticed a few bites on my upper arms and ac couple on my neck. By the 14th, I had even more bites and was starting to wonder what was going on. My husband mentioned it being a bed bugs and I couldn't believe it. So I decided to Google bed bugs and the first photo that came up looked exactly like the photo I took. It was an adult bed bug. That's when I freaked out and rewashed all of my clothing, striped the bed at home, and tried to put everything I could in the dryer at high heat. I also have a child and they somehow would have bites too. I tried to contact the hotel manager on Thursday the 16th, but she was not in and by the time they were on their shift (we are 3 hours different) I couldn't call because of a prior commitment. Anyway, I called on Friday the 17 and let her know about the infestation. She was rude and did not believe that I had stayed there because the reservation was made by my mom and paid for by my mom as well. Eventually she found the reservation and continued to be rude for the duration of the call. I left her know that I would be contacting the health department as well. She asked to send her a photo of the bug to a specific email account that I wrote down, which I did. The email was sent and we are working to get a refund.
