10/05/2023, room 105 1 bedbug was seen in the bathroom. Caught it and took it to the front desk to verify what it was. The woman was very nice and said she couldn't say what it was for sure but asked me to take a picture if we saw more. I returned to the room and moved the mattress away from the headboard, was very dirty, immediately saw more. I took a couple pictures then we packed up our things right away and went back to the front desk. The woman was still very nice and asked what she could do to compensate. I asked for a refund so we could look for another hotel and she complied. She said she would be closing that room and filing a report with maint to get and exterminator the next day. It was a terrible night, we were so tired, but ended up staying at a much cleaner hotel 45min down the road. Its important to mention we did not see bedbugs all over the place, just 1 in the bathroom and some under the mattress near the headboard. I recommend checking this area closely, it looked like the bed-skirt does not get washed very often, if at all.
