We checked in on July 15, 2023 for a week of relaxing and family fun. My mother noticed after the first night that she had some red spots on her arms. We thought it may have been a reaction to laundry detergent. As the days passed, the spots increased in size and number. She had them all over her arms, legs, and back. We started to suspect bed bugs and went into the bedroom and pulled back the sheets. The mattress was fully encased in a mattress cover but there was an infestation on the bed skirt. We immediately went to the office and reported the infestation. They were great to find us another condo and reimbursed for the cleaning bill for all of our clothes as well as thev3 nights we stayed in that condo. I don't blame the office for the issue but the cleaning people should be more aware of infestations when cleaning the condos. We had to leave early because the places on my mother continued to itch and irritate. On the way home, we had to stop by an ER to have her checked. The places had started to swell and become inflamed. They gave her a script for Prednisone and told her to continue to take Benadryl and follow up with her primary care physician once we got home. This week of relaxation and family fun turned into a nightmare for my mother and our family. Please check the bedding, mattresses, box springs, bedframes, nightstands, and dressers in all the rooms of where you stay to protect yourself and your family from being attacked by these nasty bugs.
