Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

06/18/23, Element Hotel Asheville, room 715, I found the bug while folding clothes that were left on the sofa. It fell on my arm, and I took it into the bathroom and photographed it in the sink. I put it on a paper towel and took it to the receptionist, but she didn't think it was a bed bug. Upon returning home, I sent our exterminator the photos and he confirmed it was a bed bug. We left our luggage outside and immediately put our clothes into the dryer for an hour and then washed them in hot water. We were not bitten. I have notified management of the hotel.
