Here's what I know: every hotel on the planet will encounter bedbugs. How they respond to it will make all the difference. We stayed two nights. September 27, 2022. The morning after our first night, I saw three tiny bedbugs in my kids' bed. I spoke with the front desk about what I had seen, and they sprang into action. They immediately offered us a new room and to wash all our laundry for us in their commercial washers. After breakfast, they had two maintenance staff members inspect the bed, and confirmed the presence of bedbugs. We spent time we wanted to be sightseeing packing up (and plastic bagging) our possessions. They stored our things for us outside the room, washed and dried all the things that could handle it for us, relocated us floors away from that room after triple inspecting the new one. Every staff member seemed to have been informed about the situation and bent over backwards to help. When we got back after a day out, around six pm, they gave us a board room to inspect and sort and fold and bag up all our things so we could hopefully not bring any bugs home with us. It took us over three hours of constant work to complete that task. They reimbursed me for the ziplock bags and trash bags and rubbing alcohol and spray bottle I purchased. They comped the room. Nobody ever minimized what I told them about it. Nevertheless, it was exhausting. We never got dinner that night because we were too busy working on decontaminating things. The second room seemed very clean. We ziplocked all our worn clothes and pajamas after sleeping there. Showered everybody and sprayed bags with alcohol before leaving.
