Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

I checked into Best Western Plus in Clearfield, PA at 10:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2022 and was assigned Room 215-A, Confirmation # 141049. When I woke in the morning of Friday, July 8, 2022, at 5:30 AM I noted bedbugs crawling in the bed. I left all clothing I had worn during the night in the room when I vacated the room. I alerted the front desk staff and offered to show the video and pictures, or go to the room and show the bugs to them. She said simply, without showing surprise, "I believe you," and reversed the charges for the room. I was not contacted by the manager or offered reimbursement for the clothes that must be replaced, nor was I given any assurance that the problem would be addressed.
