Bedbug Reviews

I stayed at the Quality Inn from May 18-27th, 2022 for a work trip. On my third night, I found what a thought to be a tick crawling on my pillow (I’m from the Midwest, so ticks are common and bed bugs didn’t cross my mind). Over the rest of my stay, I was finding small dots of blood and tiny exoskeletons, but as I was working in the desert, I didn’t think much of it still. On my last night, I found another “tick” and then started suspecting bed bugs. It was around 10pm and too late for me to check out and drive 6 hours home. I left immediately the next morning (Friday the 27th). I started to see a handful of bug bites on my right calf (I thought maybe fly or mosquito bites) on Sunday morning, and now I have approximately 250 bites across both arms, legs, chest, stomach, and back in total, with the final new bites appearing on Tuesday, May 31. I’ve learned that for some people, the actual bites don’t show up until 1-2 weeks after being bit. I called the hotel on Sunday morning to notify them of possible bed bugs, and was told they would bring in a pest inspector and get the results back to me ASAP. I called the hotel again Tuesday morning after the appointment, and was told the manager was busy with an online training and would call me back soon. I called back again Tuesday evening and was told the manager had left. I called various numbers for the Nevada Health Department Fallon and Carson City offices and left voicemails on Wednesday, June 1, to file a complaint. I called the hotel for the 4th time Wednesday, June 1, and spoke to manager Thomas. I said I was following up on receiving the pest inspection report, as I’ve needed the doctor and am concerned I may need to go back if the bites get infected or worsen. Thomas told me that they haven’t been able to inspect the room yet, because there are currently new guests in that room, even though they were aware of my bed bug complaint. He said that allegedly they told these guests of my concerns, and gave them the option to change rooms, but the guests opted to stay in the room (yea right!), and that they would be conducting the pest inspection after they check out. This all sounds very shady to me, and I’m concerned they’ll be attempting to exterminate the room before the inspection.

My husband, two-month-old, and I arrived at Quality Inn around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m., August 5, 2022. I was sitting on the bed feeding our baby when my husband called to me from the bathroom telling me that we weren't going to stay there. He showed me a bed bug in the ice he had just brought back with fresh linens from the front desk. The staff told us that they had just had something done about it a couple of months ago. We found two more bed bugs on the pillows in our room. They came into our room to talk to my mom, who paid for the room. The staff told my mom that they could refund her, but they would have to do it through the third party she booked through. She was refunded all three nights that we were supposed to stay. The bathtub didn't have any bedbugs in it, but it wasn't cleaned well either.
