We checked in to room 315 on march 25th 2022 around 6pm. Looked at the beds, saw some crumbs and dirt but didnt see any bugs crawling around so we unpacked our luggage and took the kids to the pool. We later came back to the room to watch tv and go to bed. I woke up at about 12:15 am March 26th 2022 to a burning feeling in my left arm and wrist but layed back down, I got back up because my face and right arm had begun to feel like they were on fire. I moved the pillow and there were 3 bugs under it. I put them in a cup and took them to the front desk. He asked if I wanted to change rooms. I said yes but my kids were asleep so I wouldn wait for just a little bit because they didnt need to be traumatized by the situation. I had to go to my vehicle to get benadryl because my wrist and hand were so swollen I could barely close my hand. I pulled all of our laundry from the drawers and closet and spent 30 dollars and countless hours doing laundry in their washer and dryer. The lint trap had 5 or 6 dead bugs in it each time I cleaned it out. My husband and kids packed up the rest of our belongings after the kids showered and I went to get the room keys for our new room (309). My son left his belt in the old room so we went to check with the girl cleaning the rooms and she didnt find it. The mattresses and box springs were flipped on their sides and there was a chemical smell coming from the room so we decided if it was in there we didnt want it. We stayed in the new room for about 2 and half hours before my husband was bit all over his arms and neck. We packed our stuff into our vehicle and requested a refund. The woman that claimed she was the manager for the hotel said she would only be able to reimburse us for the night we weren't going to stay there because she cant refund for when were actually in the room for the night. I asked for the real managers contact information and she said they only had personal cell phone numbers and she couldn't give her information out but she co-owns the hotel with Rita's hospitality. I searched online and found contact information so I called that number and nobody answered so left a voice mail. I received a phone call from the same number . He said he owned the hotel so I told him about the bed bugs and that we were very unhappy with our experience and even had to go to the walmart down the road to get ointments and sprays and benadryl tabs because of the bites and he said he has experts in the hotel every Monday to spray for bed bugs so they must have come from the person that was in the room just before us but he would look into it. I have heard nothing back yet. When we got back to battle creek I dropped my husband and kids off, they changed their clothes and put the ones they were wearing into a trash bag and I took the trash bag and all the luggage to the laundromat down the road and spent another 30 dollars on re-washing the laundry again.
