Ascend Hotel Collection Member October 24, 2021 at 3a.m. I woke up feeling extremely itchy. I felt a itchy bump on my knee and several itchy bumps on my lower back. I took my phone and turned on the flash light to look at the itchy bump on my knee and I noticed a huge bed bug filled with what I assume was my blood. I jumped out of bed and found 2 more bed bugs which I killed immediately with napkins and I left them on the bed. My boyfriend found another bed bug on the sheets and as he tried to kill it, the bed bug fell onto the dark carpet. I took a few pictures of the bed bugs I killed and I got my stuff together and rushed out the room. I went to the lobby but it was closed until 6:30a.m. Later that day I was able to speak to Heather, the manager. I asked for a refund and I told her the reason. She said the owner of the hotel was there and was going to investigate and inspect the room for bugs. Heather called me back 30 minutes later and denied that the bugs I found were not bed bugs. The bugs that I killed and left on their beds did not look like bed bugs, she said. She also said they have never had a complaint about any bug infestations. She also said the entire room was inspected and no other bugs were found. Even though the room was clearly infested because I found 4 bed bugs in less than 10 minutes. I have worked in a hotel before so I know Heather was just doing her job by denying the fact that the hotel had bugs just to protect the reputation of the hotel. As a previous employer to a hotel we also had to deny ever witnessing bed bugs or fleas in our hotel in order to protect our reputation, which was a rule I did not agree on and was one of the reasons why I quit. Heather asked me to email her any pictures I had of the bugs. I clearly knew even though if I was to send her the pictures, my problem would still not be resolved and I would not get a refund, because Heather denied the facts and the proof that was witnessed in the room. I asked to speak to her boss and she said that I could not. I asked for her bosses name and she denied me that information as well.
