05/15/2021 @ 1700 Upon check in to our room, I used the bathroom and noticed a bug on the floor. I grabbed my husband to see what it was and hopefully kill it. He noticed right away it was a bedbug and took a picture. We did not kill it. Upon closer inspection, I too, agreed it was a bed bug. As a nurse I have had to take training on identifying bed bugs, bed bug bites, and places to look for them, how to prevent bringing them home, etc. We immediately went to the front desk and showed the staff member the picture. She seemed shocked and said “why yes that is a bed bug.” She said she would need to put us in another room and check the room with the bug for a nest or anything before reporting to her manager. The next two rooms were filthy, it was getting late, and so we stayed in the least dirty room. No one else was notified of the bed bug situation and their comments to me on Facebook were that it was made up even though we had proof. I wish we had put it in a baggie or something to have further proof and that we hadn’t kept it quiet to the other guests checking in.
