Our 2021 Spring Break Trip Ruined by Bed Bugs!! We arrived to our Condo for Spring Break vacation, 2 adults with 4 young adult and teens in tow! Night one went well, the master bed was occupied by myself and 2 teen girls. The following night around midnight we pulled back the covers and saw a bug. Then another, then another and another. We realized we had a bed bug issue! By this time is almost 1:00 am. We checked all the other beds and got the kids settled while the adults rested miserably on the couch until office opened at 9:00 am. We took a captured one to the office and they apologized and said as soon as the manager Kelsey arrived he would be in touch and come up with a resolution to the issue. the employee was very nice, very professional, didn’t seem surprised by the report. By 11:00 we still had not heard from the manager Kelsey so we called him! He said he would move us to another smaller unit as soon as it was cleaned and ready. This would be 6 people in a 1 bedroom but they said they would give us blow up mattresses. We said we would be inspecting the room before we agreed and we were concerned about moving the bugs with us but they didn’t seem concerned. By 3:00 we heard oops they were wrong there is no other unit, they would refund our money and we would go home. There was nothing else available on the island, we had purchased $300 plus in groceries to cook our own meals so a hotel wouldn’t have worked anyway. I spent money on garbage bags to put suitcases in, laundry soap to wash our possible bed bug infected clothes and towels, pine o pine to soak our legs in case we were infested and I spent our beach day washing and packing. We had to get a rain check on our purchased ghost tour tickets and head home! They gave our money back and that is great BUT NO ONE COULD GIVE US BACK OUR SPRING BREAK VACATION!
