On 11-27-20 we had a suspicion that something was biting us in the bedroom. Our Kids began developing small rashes a few days before. In a few days the rashes got bigger and at one point there were over 50 bites on 3 different kids with us. We thought it might be "noseeums" we heard about in Florida or something from the beach but when we took off the sheets to wash them we noticed rust and blood stains on the mattress. On further inspection you could see the tiny bugs and the egg sacks on the box frame. At that point we called the rental company and they said we must have brought them with us. We insisted they look at it and with in an hour a maintaince guy from BeachHouse FL came and confirmed that there were bed bugs all over the room. We said we are out of here but they wanted us to stay insisting that they could get rid of them that day and we would be fine. At this point we wanted to get away from there so we changed all our plans and left. We asked for a refund and were offered only 20% back. Based on our research and the size of the rust stains on the mattress the bugs had been there for quite a while. There answer was that they had never heard anything from anyone there before us. This tells me that they did not do a very good job inspecting the place between renters. I believe the place was rented the following day after we left. I feel sorry for those people.
