Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

I stayed at the Hotel Rouge in room 910 on Sunday December 8, 2019 and woke up with 8 bed bug bites on my body including one cluster of two bites and one cluster of 3 bites. I tried moving to a different room the next day but Rouge didn't have any available. I tried moving to a different hotel but the surrounding hotels were booked. Kimpton management brought a cot to my room for my second night stay and then moved me to a much larger room for the remainder of my stay. I did get one night refunded but that was only because I tried to move to a different hotel and couldn't. The first front desk person I told didn't seem that concerned and didn't record my report. I lack confidence in the hotel's ability to adequately address the problem. Luckily I didn't wake up with any additional bites after the first night.
