7/23 Got keys at 1:00, apparently previous people had just moved out bc apartment had not been cleaned and carpet was grody. sucked up a whole house full of pet hair while stepping on crunchy carpet. Two days after moving in we starting noticing bites. We decided to bomb the apartment after all of us had been bitten. sure enough we see dead bed bugs on bed afterwards. We had purchase brand new(!) furniture to move into this "luxury" apartment. After we saw proof that there were bugs, we contacted front office. They said sorry, bed bugs is a very different type of issue since there is no way to prove you didn't bring them here. We had just come from another apartment without ever having an issue, plus we purchased new furniture for this apartment. How would we have caused the problem?! They said they would send someone in 2 days (!) to verify if there was an infestation. We have a brand new baby in the apartment and you expect us to stay there with an infestation with our child while waiting on y 'all to come check?? They have finally come out and confirmed bed bugs and said they will treat apartment tomorrow. Regardless we do not feel comfortable staying there, we are so grossed out and worried about having our baby there with all the chemicals. They are refusing to let us out of the lease and are not being reasonable at all.
