On Monday July 22, 2019 I checked in for an overnight stay. The hotel is newly renovated and looks very clean. On Tuesday morning at 7:00 am as I was doing a final sweep of the room and getting ready to leave I found a bedbug crawling on the sheets. I took the big to the front desk in a napkin, alive, as proof. The front desk attendants apologized, admitted that it indeed looked like "what it was". One of the ladies informed me that the GM was off but that I would probably get a call within a couple days. The other attendant called the GM and then called me to inform me that the room charges had been taken care of and I would still receive a call from the GM. I waited 48 hours then called Choice Hotels customer support as I had booked my stay online. They were extremely nice and apologized. I received points on my rewards balance because I have been a loyal customer for 19+ years. Five days later I still have yet to receive a call from anyone directly related to the hotel

On 5/6 around 10:30pm my first night staying at the hotel. I found a BED BUG crawling on my pillow. I immediately caught it and took it to the front desk. I was given two choices, move to a king bed until the next day (uggghhhh as I had 3 people in my party) or go to another hotel (it’s 11pm). I decide to Take the king. The next day I was moved into a double. I requested a refund for the first night and was told $50 as I received an upgrade. 3 people sleeping in one bed uncomfortably is not a upgrade. Finding a Bed bug at 10:30pm on your pillow crawling is not a upgrade. Coming back home and praying to god you don’t possibly carry one back home is not a upgrade.
