Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

I was woken up 2 hour early by traffic, and when I turned on the light, I saw a bedbug on the bedspread of the other bed. I have never seen a bedbug before, so I looked up photos on the internet. Sure enough, it was a bed bug. I put it in a cup, but it crawled out, so I put it back in & put some water in the cup. It hung out under water for at least 30 minutes & I thought it was dead. But, no! They can live under water?!? When I checked out, I asked for a manager, but apparently there is no manager on duty at 8 AM. When I told the desk clerk, he seemed dubious, but then I handed him the cup. I heard him say, “Oh yes, that’s a b....” and then he went silent. No apology, nothing. He didn’t seem surprised though. This happened this morning: Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
