WARNING - EVIDENCE SUGGESTING BED BUGS: All of my evidence from my stay at the Hard Rock Daytona Beach, Sept. 6 - Sept. 10th, 2018, Room 604, points to exposure of BED BUGS. By the time I left, I had over 50 bites all over the exposed parts of my legs/feet under the sheets and some on my hands. The bites accumulated over my stay, taking a day or so after each night to start noticing them. And on my last day departing, I noticed the vast quantity of the bites and the itching became almost unbearable as I traveled in the airport. The appearance and groupings of the bites seem to fit the description of bed bug bites PERFECTLY. I have pictures documenting many of them and the groupings. I contacted the hotel the day I left, and there was ZERO urgency on their end to deal with the situation. The next day, a hotel staff member called and claimed that one of their staff members inspected and cleaned the room and found no evidence of bed bugs. I demanded a third party inspection, as I didn’t want this to happen to anyone else. The hotel has not shared a third party inspection with me. This ended up being the WORST vacation of my life. I was itching for days after returning from Hard Rock Daytona, and I had to go through the laborious process of quarantining everything from my trip in my garage, following proper protocol as I brought items in my home which could be washed in hot water and dried in high heat. I still have items quarantined in plastic bags in my garage that I am unable to throw in the dryer. DO NOT STAY AT HARD ROCK DAYTONA BEACH!! - I sincerely hope no one else has to go through this horrific experience. I have filed an official incident report with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, who is now investigating. I have also left a message with the local Volusia County Department of Health. I am now preparing legal action to rectify this situation. I have posted this warning on Yelp, Google Reviews, Trip Advisor, Hard Rock Daytona’s FB Page (who has now deleted the original post), Hard Rock Daytona’s Twitter Page, bedbugreports online, and LinkedIn. If you don’t want to risk being exposed to bed bugs, the same ones evidence suggests I was exposed to, AVOID HARD ROCK DAYTONA AT ALL COSTS!! Jim F.
