I arrived at Crystal Cove on Friday May 4th. On Saturday May 5th, I woke up with a slight rash/bumps on my face, hands and feet which by mid afternoon developed into large welts and hives all over my face and unbearable itching. I went to the check in desk, where the ranger was extremely rude and didn't seem to take it very seriously, despite the fact my face was swollen with hives. We obviously did not stay our second night and they did not offer a refund but said they would notify management when they were there on Monday. I was left a voice mail that Monday stating they scoured the room and would be issuing me a refund. By this point, I had been to urgent care to see a Doctor and had confirmed it was bed bugs. I also have pictures of the rash all over my face which required me to take prednisone for a week to reduce the swelling. I called back to provide this information to assure the room and all cabins were being checked and cleaned and not rented out to prevent this from spreading or happening to anyone else. I asked what they had found when they checked the room and I was told they found ants. This was certainly not the case. I find it necessary to write this review as it does not seem Crystal Cove has taken this seriously enough to do the required maintenance to rectify this situation and the State Park system should also be notified to assure this is followed through with.
