My wife and I booked a room through a friend at Casa Loma for April 28-May 5. We asked for an extra night and received it(all either comped or discount rate). The room appeared clean and we checked all beds upon arrival. We stayed all week but when we got up Saturday, May 5, my wife saw a bug on headboard (mounted to wall and made of fabric). We checked it further and found manifestation of bed bugs. We immediately packed and went directly to office to see (General Manager ) and told her we had a problem and were leaving. S didn't believe us and we asked her to come to the room with us. She would not and said she didn't want to see them.y wife showed her the pictures. She seemed slightly concerned bit not overly. I asked for refund and if we had further issues, would they take care of it. She said to let her know. She got my debit card and said we'd get a refund in 7-10 days ( not knowing how much she refunded). We drove back to Ga ( having to leave early and not seeing our granddaughter another day. We were there for her birth) A day after returning home I awoke with bites all over me. I had approximately 100 bites. My wife had some too. We went to doctor and he confirmed they were bed bug bites. We received corticosteroid shots, pills and creams. Finally, we got a rend of 2 days...nothing more. I emailed, messaged and called Shelly. She finally called me back and was not apologetic or even slightly sorry sounding. She said she would have to pass on pictures I emailed her to see how they would handle this. I feel neglected and taken advantage of.
