Multiple units in this senior living facility are currently infested with bed bugs. Initial infestations and severely irritated skin on multiple residents was first noticed two weeks ago (approximately 12/20/2017). Treatment has been on an individual room basis, however no care was taken to prevent spread outside of the rooms and inadequate inspections of adjacent (to infected) rooms was performed (meaning that first one "expert" identified the room as having no bed bugs, however immediately after numerous bed bugs and droppings were easily found. Residents were moved to other rooms, however they wore untreated clothing from infested rooms into the new rooms. After bugs were known to in rooms, the executive director announced the fact. Unfortunately little (none) other information was provided and there were no warnings to residents to avoid transfer to other homes during the Holidays. Situation has been reported to Multnomah County and the City of Portland.
