Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Noticed a little brown bug one morning the first week of November but didn't think anything as I had never seen a bedbug before. Started itching a few days later and thought it might be fleas. However, my dogs are on TRIFEXIS and supplemented with flea collars. Went to doctor on Nov. 7 for bug bites reaction. The next morning saw another little brown bug. Turned up the mattress and box springs, cleaned the frame and took pics of lots of adult bedbug husks. The management was aware of the problem, were calling pest control and refunded our money.

Rumford Motor Inn in Rumford, Rhode Island is having a problem with bedbugs. Went to the doctor with a spreading rash and lots of bug bites November 6. Pulled up the mattress and box springs the morning of November 7, wiped down the bedframe and found adult bedbug husks. We couldn't move out until that Friday, however, the manager refunded our money. They were aware of the problem and had been calling pest control. The room we stayed in was room 217. I would think carefully before staying in an older motel again.
