When we woke up this morning at 8 am on October 23 2017 we found a bed bug crawling across the bed. Went to front desk and the Arabic man would not let me speak to the manager.

Checked in June 21, 2019 around 2:00. Spent the afternoon in the room, went to dinner around 5 and spent the evening out. Got back to the room around 9. Pulled blanket and sheets back to go to bed and saw a bug. Wasn't sure what it was so I took a photo of it and looked it up online. It was a bed bug. Contacted front desk, clerk was kind and quick to refund payment and we left.

6/11/19. We're eaten alive! Call front desk they moved us to another room and same result. It's just pathetic to ruin someones vacation like that.

Our stay at Southern Oaks Inn – December 16 – 20 2019 was marred by the DISCOVERY of BEDBUGS. After two days of my wife being bit-up we visited the First Aid Station at Silver Dollar City to be advised that my wife’s bites were not from No-See’ms contracted by our morning hikes but were the result of BEDBUGS. Upon our return to the SOI were examined by wife's bed to discover a LIVE BEDBUGS and lots of EGGS / STAINS / EXCREMENT / SKINS which we photographed including the swollen bites to her body. I notified the front desk and the male manager visited our room -- did not examine the bed - advised that SOI would relocating us. The female manager offered to refund our rental $$ and we could look for another place to stay. I declined the offer. I started to do research on the Internet and my wife called the St. Louis County Health Department to learn what steps we needed to take to keep these insects from ‘hitching’ a ride to our home. We have had many articles of clothing ‘dry-cleaned' – while expending time 'wiping-down’ our luggage and dry-cleaning - for hours - the remaining loads of clothes. We also bought medicine to alleviate my wife’s itching. My wife’s anxiety is out of control not know if the BEDBUGS are in our house or have been transported to where our 11 grandchildren live in St. Louis. I have attempted to email SOI via the Orbitz Travel site since we left but someone has read our messages but have not returned our numerous requests to be contacted to share the pictures of my wife’s “bites.”
