Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Checked into Econo Lodge on 10/20/17 didn’t notice till 10/22/17 around 1:24 am a tiny bug on mattress tag. Went to front desk they offered to switch rooms. We checked other room and it was not better. We looked more and found 2 big ones. We put them in a cup and went back to front desk and told them just to refund our stay, which they did, and now it’s 3:37 and we’re driving back home that’s 3 1/2 hours away because surrounding hotels were all booked.

5/10/2018 - 5/12/2018 Attacked by bed bugs on both nights with 2nd night being the more severe. At least 30 bites. Bed bugs verified visually on bedsheets after 2nd attack. Hotel staff was notified during immediate checkout. They took pictures of bites with cell phone. Still awaiting response from Hotel chain.
