This room was booked on 9/9/2017 during Hurricane Irma as a way to get a way from the storm. I arrived at the hotel at approximately 3 PM. When arriving to the room, I noticed that the carpet leading to the bathroom was wet from the person prior to me. The hotel staff was notified and vacuumed the area. After falling asleep later in the evening, I woke up at approximately 1 AM from a burning sensation in my forearm. I got up, examined myself and confirmed that I was bitten in multiple areas of my arm. After doing so I examined the bed and found bed bugs crawling around in the sheets. After further examination, I also found bed bugs on the wall, and around a painting that was over the bed. I took pictures and videos and looked through all of my belongings and packed and left the room. Some of my items were left because I did not want to risk bringing these critters home. I went to the lobby and asked for a refund due this incident. The lady at the front desk was giving a hard time until a genetlemen stepped in and insinuated that the critters may have come with my luggage. We both walked back to the room and and I showed him all of the areas which the bed bugs had created nests and also the ones crawling in the room. He stated that no one ever mentioned this before and gave be a cash refund.
