My worst nightmare. I always was afraid this would happen and it did. I spotted 2 bed bugs spotted on top of comforter. Hotel manager accused us of bringing them to his hotel (we are both 41 years old and never had any encounter with bed bugs in our lives).. He offered to send us to another hotel. however we declined because ethically we didn't want to take our possibly infected luggage to another hotel, that is not right! After a lot of back and forth and threats on his part that he would call the police (we were two ladies who were upset that we found bed bugs in his hotel, crime?. We asked that an exterminator be brought in to hot steam clean our belongings, he said that would not happen. Finally we asked to use dryer to put our clothes in. He offered his hotel dryer (the one he does the hotel sheets in). Turned out dryer did not get hot (ice cold), we tried it a few times and checked in mid cycle to ensure it wasn't just a cool down. So either he shut down heat to dryers while we were using it or his dryers do not work. This is very unsanitary.
