Spacious but not luxurious as advertised. Needs better up keep and inspection. Loved location and balcony view. Always wanted to visit Myrtle beach. Planned this family trip for 9 people for over a year. Biggest difficulty was getting 6 adults off work at same time. Once accomplished I booked condo 1406 with Thomas beach vacations January 2017. We arrived July 8,2017 with long awaited excitement and anticipatation. Nice roomy condo with twin beds sagging and broken down to the point of leaning toward the floor, queen bed rolled sleepers to the middle, fixtures were rusted, 3 of the DVD players didn't work, broken floor tiles, however the kitchen was well stocked to my surprise. All seemed to be small issues except we were getting bug bites thought to be from bugs out side. By Friday 14 th I had large red whelps with blisters (that itched terribly) all over my arms and legs. I sought medical advice . It was suggested the bites were from bed bugs. I thought no way this could be the source. However upon removal of the mattresses at the condo it was evident. The bed bug discovery was late Friday night. Myself and another family guest called the number provided for Thomas beach vacations. All we could do is leave a message. No return call received. Notified security and building maintenance as well. We thought of moving else where but nearest vacancy was over an hour away, plus we would be taking bugs to another building. We purchased large black bags to place all our belongings since check out out was the next day. Thomas beach vacations was informed of the bugs and provided samples I had captured on July 15, 2017. Was told manager would get in touch with me on the 16th. This never happened so on the 17 th I called my bank to dispute charges for this condo. Only then did I get a return call saying they would credit me $650.45 of the $2,825.00 I paid because they were notified on day of departure. Had I known before Friday and if someone would have called me back notification would have been sooner than check out. They of course have no record of calls from us. My dream vacation had ended on a sour note. The biggest biggest regret is that I subjected my family to this environment. Most likely will never visit Myrtle Beach again. I have to question if there is a state law requiring routine inspection for bed bugs by the renter? My advice if your willing to take the chance please inspect the beds diligently upon arrival. Hint bed bugs come out at night
