Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

On April 30, 2017, we left the Roadside Inn at 2:00 a.m. after we found bed bugs between the sheets and between the mattress and box springs. We showed the bed bugs to the motel desk clerk who said that nothing could be done about the problem. We reported the bed bugs to the Hardin County Health Department (Lincoln Trail Health Department) in Kentucky. The manager told us that the room would not be cleaned because we were staying for a week. We have since been told that there are not any regular housekeepers who regularly clean the rooms or who change the bed linens and towels in the rooms. We had cleaned the room with antibacterial spray cleaner and are now sure that the bed linens were not clean.
