I moved into Gables Rock Springs in Atlanta on October 12th, 2016. Within just a few weeks of moving in I started being bitten in my sleep at night and waking up with many unpleasant bites. I've also had stains on my sheets and pillowcases from bugs at night, leading me to believe there was a previous bed bug issue here. I have proof such as images of bites and stained clothing, etc. I've also never previously had a bed bug issue so it took me awhile to figure out what was going on. I reported this to the leasing office a few weeks later once I concluded that it must be bed bugs and they sent out their pest control person, but he found nothing because I cleaned up the “evidence”. Meanwhile, he and the management company basically blamed me for the issue and told me immediately that I would be responsible for any pest control treatments. Following that, I continued to get bitten and ended up paying $900 for Orkin pest control on my own. They came out and sprayed 3 times, but I kept getting bitten (probably because they didn’t bother to check/treat any other apartments). By January 17th, after months of getting little sleep, losing time at work, and being miserable I left the apartment with no resolution because they simple would not help me. I have the email chain showing how terribly unhelpful these people are and how they don’t care about the health or welfare of anyone living at their apartment complex. I also have pictures of being eaten alive on many different occasions in my sleep – the stuff of nightmares! I lost ALL of my possessions (thousands of dollars’ worth) and almost even lost my job because of my loss of productivity from missing so much sleep. Now they are coming after me for payment for the remainder of my lease and refuse to let me out of it.
