My husband and I and our two children stayed at the Aston Waikiki Sunset for one week (December 10-17). We all were covered with bites, although it took a few days for them to manifest. We then found a LIVE bed bug in our room. After that, the staff moved us to another room and supposedly treated our luggage. They then said that they had an exterminator inspect the room, but they didn't find any evidence of bedbugs. Clearly, their exterminator is not doing their job! However, as a result of their report, they then denied responsibility (despite the clear evidence to the contrary), and would not compensate us in any way. They did, however, offer to pay medical expenses (which were unnecessary), but I would have liked some compensation for the psychological and physical distress this caused us. We were uncomfortable and itchy for weeks afterwards!
