Spent the night of 12/27/16 as part of a promotional tour for timeshare presentation. I woke up to use the restroom at @5:30am, upon getting back into bed I adjusted the pillows and found a bed bug hiding at the top of the rear pillow. I quickly slid my hand into the pillowcase and squished it between my fingers. The bug felt like nothing more than wax and was filled with blood. I contacted the main desk and was told they would send security. Security went with my husband to another room, which also had BED BUGS. My husband called the desk back and they sent another key to an upstairs room, which also had them. The staff was not concerned, surprised, or apologetic. We spoke to an assistant manager because we did not want to do the tour, did not want the free gifts and did not want to pay the penalty for skipping the tour. We spoke to the sales person that was to do our tour and she told us she was still going to do her job with us, she was unprofessional, stern voice, would not stop grabbing me by the bicep area even as I stepped away she grabbed my arm again. If they were concerned with guest health they would have found us a clean place to stay, and would have let us leave after refunding our deposit. I wish I would have done a google search for BED BUGS at Massanutten. The only thing they did was give us black garbage bags. I took many pictures and video.

Stayed at Massanutten resort room 1415 for timeshare promotional weekend. Husband woke up with bites on his arms, thought it was a mosquito at first. More bites and whelps appeared. Bite marks became apparent, appeared on me the next morning after checking out with bites down the back of my leg, hand, arm, chest. Straight line bites and whelps. Did not see bugs while there but called and I did report the bites to management who claim that they had someone who is trained to inspect the room and did not find any indication of bed bugs. However, upon reviewing the bed bug report after our stay, I read that someone else stayed in the room next to ours a few months ago and had bed bugs that they saw and took pictures of. I'm sure there are bed bugs still there, since the evidence of the bite marks are all over my husband and I. Wish I would have checked the mattress and bedding more closely myself. Beware and check your bed closely!

Checked in on 9/20/2019 everything was fine at first, the room was clean, everything in working order just nice all around woke up on 22 nd and went to the adventure park, and pool all the while itching not really paying attention to how bad it was itching or the location because I had been outside and thought they were mosquito bites. My back was itching so bad I kept rubbing it against the back of the chair trying to scratch it, I also took my shoes and socks off because my ankles were itching really bad when I took my socks off I noticed this isn’t normal mosquito bites my ankle were swollen and the bites were extremely itchy so on the way home I sent a text message telling the manager I think we had bed bugs in our room she told me she would have someone check it out and she said they said the unit didn’t have bedbugs in it. By the time I got home I realized after looking at pictures online that these were in fact bedbug bites I then reached back out to management and told her I’m certain there are bedbugs in the unit we stayed in she told me that whatever was biting me they are certain it didn’t come from my unit which pissed me of because I’m not crazy. I sent her pictures of my many bites on my ankles, back, and arm and she cc someone else who basically said the same thing.
