I moved into a fully furnished apartment (matress included) at Oakwoods at the end of Thanksgiving and noticed that I was itchy when in bed and my dog was scratching a lot since first day of move in. However, I am not allergic to bed bugs so I do not get red spots when they bite me. My dog is up to date with his flea medicine and the first day I moved in and walked him I found a flea on him from the courtyard. I flea bombed my aprtment and notified the office. They admitted there are fleas in the courtyard. I check my dog for fleas after every walk now. I assumed the itching was just because I was paranoid of fleas. My boyfriend came to stay with me on 12/4/16 and woke up with numerous itchy bumps on his skin. Over the next few days he kept gettting more and more. A friend told us they might be bedbug bites. I notified the office and they inspected the bed and found bedbugs on 12/7/16. Management is refusing to notify neighboring apartments. The bed is a Murphy style bed and folds up into the wall.
