Saturday October 7th 2017, checked in at around 11:30. Found a full adult bedbug on pillowcase and left and reported to clerk who promptly refunded our money and we left immediately.

October 2 my vehicle had broken down in the parking lot of McDonald and it's was already dark and my children where already tired so instead of just waiting for a tow truck and putting the kids thru anymore we decided to just stay at the econolodge in North Charleston right next door to the McDonald's we broke down at. We got the room and laid the kids and ourselves right down to sleep we woke up the next morning and I noticed my two year old had red bumps on his body so I checked my other child and he too had the red bumps I didn't really think to much about it until I pulled back the sheets and there the little red colored bugs were and I knew exactly what I was looking at bed bugs. I recorded the bugs trying to scurry away and took pictures of the children's bumps. I immediately ran and I mean ran to the front desk and asked to speak the person in charge, the man said I'm the manage (Richard) I told and should him the video and picture of the bed bugs. He looked at me and said but you've been here since last night so why tell me this now? I was livid at how I was being treated. I didn't know they had bed bugs its not like I just wanted to stay there for pleasure I stayed because we had broken down. So anyways I ask the manager (Richard) for a refund and told me had to call his exterminator and prove that they were in fact bed bug and he would call me the next day to let me know the results. Three days later after I called every day and kept getting the run around I finally called a number from the website and they told me they were gonna look into The matter they even called the manager (Richard) while on the phone with me and then informed me I might now get a full refund but that I would get some kind of compensation. Here it is now October 11, 2017 and the manager is still giving us the run around for the refund. There customer service sucks and I will never stay at any other Econolodge because of it.
