My wife and I are owners at The Ridge Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe. We were vacationing August 20th-August 27th 2016. Our first night of a 7 day stay we were attacked by Bed Bugs! My wife woke up by bugs crawling on her. Ultimately she received nearly 2 dozen bites. Bed Bugs and Bed Bug traces were found in both our bed and our children's bed. We were staying in a 2BR/2BA unit in the Cascade building. We killed 5 bed bugs ourselves before Security and Housekeeping showed up. When they lifted the bed, there were at least half a dozen more bugs discovered. If I had to speculate, this was probably a haven of bed bugs for sometime - especially since they were found in both bedrooms. The Ridge Tahoe didn't share with me whether or not bed bugs were found in other areas of the suite (ie pull out sofa, couches, etc...). The resort did move us after 5 more additional hours in the room. Several articles of clothing and other personal belongings were involved in this disaster. We've been directed to The Ridge Tahoe's insurance carrier and The Ridge Tahoe resort management will not return any additional phone calls.

Sunday (September 4, 2016) night I found bed bugs in the master bedroom in room 4206 in the Cascade Lodge. It freaked me out because I'd never seen one before. I had my baby on a pillow in my lap while breast feeding and I saw one crawling up toward him and killed it then put the pillow aside. 10 minutes later I saw another on the pillow, killed it then another and another. This probably happened a total of 5x. I stayed up most of the night making sure none got to us on the bed. Before leaving I did see one one walking up the bed cover. That room should probably be checked and sheets thoroughly cleaned ASAP.
