I lived in an apartment on the 6th floor for three years and had bedbugs in my apartment FOUR different times. I finally couldn't take it anymore and moved out. The first time was June 2013, then twice in 2014 and then again in February/March 2016. Although the management company did send an exterminator right away each time (however sometimes the treatment was not effective and I demanded they send another exterminator) and they also helped cover some (not all) of my laundering expenses, they are clearly not dealing with the pervasive bedbug issue throughout the building. I have spoken to several of my neighbors over the years too (on the 6th floor, 5th and 3rd) who also indicated they had had bedbug infestations at some point. One time, in 2014, my roommate and I found a bedsheet with LIVE BEDBUGS crawling on it in the open, communal trash bin on our floor. Roaches and mice are also a problem but that pales in comparison with the bedbug nightmare.
