I found bed bugs in this room within a week of moving in. As I have a severe allergy to their bites, I had to immediately treat the situation. The owners sprayed some poison which didn\'t work. It took them 2 days to do that, then 2 more days I had to wait through the weekend (the office was closed). Finally the following week on the first day, I came to the office to let them know their spray didn\'t work and my bed was already infected as we found 15 bed bugs in it. But the office staff was unavailable to me again. So, I invited a professional exterminator, paid crazy money and solved the problem in my room right away. At this point, I have a big suspicion that they have had the bugs inside before we moved in - it\'s because all our things and possessions have been used by us before without ever being bitten(or else I\'d have allergy). And, my allergy doesn\'t take a day off -it\'s a permanent condition that always works as a bed bug detector... So, as soon as we moved in - they started biting us and get into our bed within a week That first week, my allergy came up. I talked to few neighbors who said they saw bed bugs in their rooms, but they supposedly caught them out by hand and had no problem. But realistically - it is impossible to catch them one-by-one using only hands. Yet, without an allergy or sensitivity to those bug bites, one might assume there are no bugs since you cannot feel how they crawl on you. I suspect the whole building is infected. Landlords/staff use the over-the-counter sprays to treat the entire building - instead of hiring a professional to do a real inspection and then an extermination if necessary.
