This apartment complex used to be a hotel. Now it is an apartment complex run by HASLO for disabled adults and the elderly. It has multiple other businesses attached to the apartment building. The first case of bed bugs in this complex was in December of 2014. It is now October of 2015 and HASLO has still not irraticated the bed bugs. They have also not called a professional exterminator and instead have had their maintenance department, who does not have adequate knowledge of how to treat bed bugs, take care of the problem themselves. Because HASLO has not hired a professional exterminator the bed bug problem has gotten worse and worse. Many apartments in the building have had bed bugs in them multiple times. HASLO maintenance sprays and bombs the units but often he bugs return to the same unit only weeks or months later. Residents of this complex have also accidentally spread the bed bugs to other houses and businesses because of the severity of the problems in their own unit. HASLO is not taking care of this problem and I fear it will spread to attached businesses in the downtown area. I am not leaving my real name because I fear retaliation from HASLO. If they kick me out of my apartment I will most likely end up homeless as the Anderson Apartments are one of very few low income housing units in SLO county. As all of the other low income housing units have wait lists that are years long. I can\'t afford to move but I\'m saying something about the bed bug problem because this has got to stop. If you or anyone you know can help get HASLO to irradiate the bed bugs in this complex please do so. If you do nothing then the bed bugs will spread around town. This is why I am speaking up now. No one wants bed bugs. You might get them even if you don\'t know anyone who lives in this complex. They are great hitch hikers. The residents of this building are very low income and cannot afford to spend thousands of dollars to fix the problem themselves. Please help!
