we stayed here and my husband ended up with over two hundred bited on him. He had to go to the er and thats how we found out it was bed bugs. the mgr kept telling us that he was having a alergic reaction to something he ate or was allergic to the detergent that they washed the linens and towels in. we ended up looking behind the beds after he came back from the er and we pulled the beds away from the wall, we found hundreds of baby bedbugs and four adults. we put some in a baggie and took it to the front desk, the girl called the mgr and i spoke to her, she then told me that she had to investigate it that she didnt believe it was bedbugs. i went back to our room and the girl in room 207 was talking to my husband, she also was all bitten up. she showed me the bites and she was covered with them, we then moved her beds and they were hundreds on hers also. there was also human or dog feces along the wall under the one bed in her room. it was sickening. they moved us and her to other rooms and the next morning my husband went to the front desk to speak to the mgr. she insisted they were not bed bugs even after she made my husband show her the bites he had and seeing them in the ziplock baggie that we had collected a bunch in. as my husband was standing there talking to her, another women came in and was loding a complaint about her room also having bed bugs. i called the enviromential health dept about it and they told me they gets calls every couple of weeks about howard johnsons having bed bugs. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!!!!!!! We have to throw away so much of our belonging that its crazy. we are having trouble sleeping now and i am freaked out that i may have brought them home. we r going to have to throw out three weeks worth of our belongings, we stayed there for over two weeks. the mgr ashley looked my husband right to his face and lied to him. i am so mad about this situation and my poor husband is still dealing with the aftermath of all those bites.
