Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Wife kept getting bug bites and went to urgent care after we checked out and confirmed they were bed bugs. Management sent in their bed bud inspection team the next day, confirmed bed bugs, and reimbursed the hotel rates for all 3 nights of our stay. This is wilderness resort , room 153, stayed June 8-10, 2023.

Reported in the morning July 29, around 9am (discovered live and dead bedbugs in the hours around 3am). Management gave refund for night stay. No details on direction or policies. No offer to fumigate items so we didn’t have to risk taking them home. No compensation for anything else. My 7 year old has bites and I found a dead one in the bed where my 10month old slept with me.

How to get rid of Bedbugs at home

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
