Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

My girlfriend began noticing began noticing bites less than two weeks after moving in, but we thought it was chiggers from around the area she works until I also started getting bites. It wasn't until around 4 months into our lease that we figured out what was going on, we called the office to let them know and wound up paying over $600 out of pocket, throwing away our mattress and box spring for a treatment that ultimately did nothing but give a 3 week reprieve. Everything about how this was handled by apartment management was shady, it took 3 in person meetings to get an invoice on the pest companies letterhead.So glad we took the short lease.
