Checked in 7/27/17 for 3 nights. Put in room 116. Woke up on 7/28/17 itching. At 7:30 am my wife, woke up with bites on her lower legs, hands and feet. Inspected the room and found 6-8 live bedbugs in the sheets on the upper left corner. Further inspection found them on the walls and headboard. Immediately went to front desk. The morning desk clerk was informed and brought to the room. We were told she would call the manager. She came back to inform us that he was busy but that they would move us to another room. We were terrified that these bugs were in our luggage and bags so we immediately started washing EVERYTHING in hot water, including the travel bags. I insisted on the manager speaking to us and was told he was on his way. We took multiple pictures of the bugs and the bites. The manager did not arrive until 1:30 pm. He assured us it was an isolated incident and that he would comp us the room fee. The new room appeared clear of bed bugs so we believed him. On 7/30/17 we awoke to find a bed bug on the wall under the headboard. I took a picture of the bug, put it in a bag and took it to the front lobby. I informed the front desk that we would not pay for anything and abruptly left the premises. During this stay and after the first occurrence, we spoke to the housekeeping and administrative staff on the condition of anonymity and they confessed that the manager was well aware of this problem but would not have the hotel treated. He continues to rent out these rooms knowing that they are infested with bed bugs. Wife was covered in bites within 3 days to the point that we were considering the ER. The bites are still evident all over her body. My bites are still coming out and we are both on antihistamines and cortisone creams to control the itching and pain. It has ruined our vacation to the Portland area and is continuing to affect the rest of our cross country vacation. There was no evidence of any safety protocols being used during the cleaning of these rooms to prevent the infestation from spreading.THIS HOTEL NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN.
