This hotel is really a motel.. Used to be the old Super 8 in Beachwood.. They changed the name probably because they have bed bugs and needed to rebrand their image so they could continue to do business.. I checked into the room on Wednesday 1/23/2019.. Immediately started looking around for bugs and bed bugs.. Found a potato bug, found a small beetle of some kind, but the mattresses appeared clean.. Felt pretty good about things, so I stayed in the room.. It was a dirty room.. Old carpet, old furniture, old everything except the TV.. Coffee maker did not work though.. Went to sleep that night, and in the middle of the night, I felt a bite.. Immediately jumped out of bed and started looking around.. I had checked the corners and seams of the mattress, but not under the padding, or under the mattress itself.. But there they were.. A hand full of bed bugs next to the right hand mattress corner, but under it.. Got dressed, packed, locked up the luggage, and went to the front desk to try to get my room changed.. Their front desk was closed.. It was snowing and I had to stand outside in the cold at their outside window waiting for someone to come to the desk.. 5 minutes later someone showed up and when I tried to get another room, they flat out denied it saying they had no other rooms available, when clearly the hotel was mostly empty.. Just a few cars in the parking lot.. I left that night, and will never come back.. Checked into the Extended Stay hotel across the street.. Don't know if I took any bedbugs away with me in my luggage, but if I end up with bed bugs at home, I will come back and sue this motel.
