Checked in 6/13/2023 for 4 night reservation. Nice hotel. Good location. My experience was not good overall due to bites I received while sleeping and lack of assistance thereafter. (Room 70). I noticed a few bites the first morning and didn’t think too much about it. By the evening after the second night, I had a lot of bites - that looked very typical “bed bug”. By third night, we went to front desk and they moved us to another room and told us to leave our belongings in old room and they would have it “checked the next day”. We, the next morning, were kindly given large black bags to “pack” all our belongings in. We left the hotel with assurances that they would follow up with us, give us a refund for nights we left early, and bed bug status report. I travel a LOT and know bites are a travel risk. Not indicative of a problem with the hotel necessarily. It was the lack of transparency, lack of assistance, lack of assurance, lack of accountability. Stay here at your own risk. I have been under doctor treatment for severe reaction to bedbug bites. We did nothing but go out to dinner and shop. They tried to say I was allergic to New Mexico. I’ve been to NM literally 100 times. Have never had a bite problem. Again, not so much what happened but how I was handled. Not typical for Santa Fe or of the LaFonda properties I’m familiar with. Be cautious. Straight answers would have been helpful.
