My husband, eight month old baby, and I checked into our room at approximately 9pm on the 21st of October. On first inspection of the room I did notice some surface dirt and the smell of feces coming from the waste basket in the bathroom but we chalked it up just an oversight from the cleaning staff and tried to overlook it. While sitting on the bed in the room, my husband noticed something crawling across the opposite bed. On inspection, we realized there was a bed bug crawling across the bed and found several others in the pillows and sheets. We immediately notified the from desk and packed our things. No one came to the room for at least 30 minutes and even then it was not a manager. The girl who came to the room told us she had to get pictures for her manager and that, if the manager believed the bugs to be bed bugs, our room would be comped. No apology. We were moved to another room but my husband was not satisfied that the room would be free of bed bugs and we chose to leave. We had a 3 hour drive there for a wedding the next day, it was after 11:30 pm and we drove home 3 hours back. It is doubtful we will ever stay in a holiday inn again.
