My daughter and the rest of the cheerleaders from our town stayed at this hotel for State Wrestling tournament. Feb. 14-16, on the morning of Feb. 16th at 7:20 AM, my daughter sent me pictures of red "bumps" on her and her friend that slept in the same bed. Pictures of bed bug bites that I took in and had confirmed by a Doctor. I contacted the hotel right away, they said they would check and get back to me, three hours passed and no word so I called them back. I was told "we checked the room and found nothing and if in fact they were bit there would be blood on the sheets, are you sure you didn't have them before?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? NO I do not have them neither does her friend or any of the other cheerleaders for that matter. I was told that the hotel is having their pest control company come in and look. Got a call back 7 hours from my first call made that the company found nothing as well. I am sorry there was PLENTY of time for sheets to be changed. I called said pest company and was told since I am not the client they couldn't tell me if they had been there or not. I then called the hotel back and asked for a copy of the "clean" report in which I was told "I don't think that will be a problem". I sent them the pictures my daughter sent me and I have not heard from this hotel since. Never received the "clean" report. I spent three days doing every possible thing to make sure bugs did not come into my home. Made a trip to Ankeny and bagged up all my daughter's stuff and began the cleaning process. 13 hours steam cleaning her clothes, shrunk clothes that were washed in HOT water and dried on HIGH setting, through luggage away, as said in my many hours of research on how to NOT bring these home. I am very irritated by this whole ordeal. I FAITHFULLY check EVERY hotel I go to when I do have to travel (which is not often due to reasons like this) to make sure there is nothing to worry about. I was not there to check this hotel unfortunately, had I been there this may have been prevented.
