7:21 am on 8/11/19 my roommate Danielle said she felt a bump on her leg and started to scratch it when she pulled back covers there was a bug crawling she hit it and it look like it was bleeding come to find out it was a bed bug ...... after calming down my friend immediately went to front desk had to wait 30 mins for management upon ao I showed the janitor the bed bug smashed on the bed Mr.Patel (Management) came to room on arrival showed bed bug and bites on my friend (i have photos and video) manager said nothing he could do but did ask if she wanted to put clothes in dry to help kill any potential bugs ...... we took him up on his offer. It was supicious that they asked me to sign more paperwork they stated they couldnt find ....now reporting incident and after getting our clothes back Mr. Patel stated he has to have a case filed when I asked about a refund ....he was not mean but very short with his responses ( not sure where to report photos/videos to)

09/24/21: Checked in to Rooms 107 & 108. Before bringing in luggage, I inspected the mattresses in Room 107 first. I saw a few small black spots that looked like possible bed bug excrement, but wasn’t sure as there were only a few. The mattress design had a sewn in pillow topper on both the top and bottom of the mattress presumably so it could be rotated. Upon inspecting the top piece, I found no bugs; however, after lifting the mattress and inspecting between the bottom pillow piece and the mattress, I discovered a sizable colony of bed bugs (~20). I went immediately back to the front desk, asked an employee to accompany me to the room, and showed her the infestation. I told her I did not want to look at the other room or be moved but wanted a refund. She immediately processed the refund and at 9 pm we began looking for another hotel on a busy weekend in Columbia during UofSC Family weekend. This was especially disappointing because I had asked the hotel in a phone call if they had any problems with bed bugs only one day before our arrival and was told they did not.
